Mercado Olivar - Palma de Mallorca
Located in the central Market of Palma de Mallorca, the historical Mercado Olivar – at 1mn walk from Plaza España in the center of the city, our restaurant offers the great possibility to buy Fish, SeaFood or Meat from the market stalls and when you bring it to us, we will cook it for you for just 3,5€ per person!

How does it work?
Formula ‘YBWC’: we cook ‘a la plancha’ the products that you buy from the Market Olivar.
- Choose and buy your fish, Seafood or Meat (but no vegetables) in the Market
- We need your products to be ready for cooking ‘a la plancha’. When you buy your product, ask the seller to prepare it (lobster, cleaning fish, …)
We can do it, but it will have an extra cost of 3€ per person or product because we will need more time…so simply ask when you buy it. - Come to us at the upper floor of the Market and we will cook your products for 3,5€ per person!
- When you are in You Buy We Cook Restaurant, you can give your product to Marian, your host, and tell her how you want it to be cooked – but even better, ask for the ‘Cooking Card’. On this card you can write down exactly how you want your products to be cooked.
Small points to know:
- Vegetables do not enter in the formula YBWC – we sell our own
- No drinks that are not purchased in our restaurant – it is a great way to eat for an excellent price but it is still a business ))
- If you do not drink anything while you eat, then the price of Formula YBWC becomes 10€/person…so stay hydrated ))
- No ‘doggy-bag’ in the formula YBWC – What you do not eat is lost…
- We have out ‘A La Carte’ dishes elaborated with fresh products from the Market too
- It is better to book a table calling +34 691 35 10 35 – seats are limited…

Here in Villa Columbus restaurant, we cultivate our difference…
We are a small family restaurant. We do not pretend being posh, funky or expensive. We simply want to cook good food at the right price. We cannot offer you every day every thing or it will not be freshly cooked and tasty so we opted for a thematic nights. This way it does not get boring but instead it becomes innovative.
Please note that some nights, you should reserve your dish. We buy a little more than we get ordered so that it all stays tasty and fresh!
Spanish Tapas
Every Monday and Saturday you can choose from a large variety of Spanish tapas. Every dish has different size alternatives that you can pick on the Tapas Cooking Card. You can also order one Mixed plate to get a taste of it all.

Pizza and Pasta
On Wednesday our thematic restaurant moves to Italy and you can have a delicious Pizza or Pasta and at a very reasonable price too, that’s one of the advantages of a family restaurant AND You can choose between a list of 25 ingredients to add to one of our five Classic Pizza! Buon appetito!

Totally home made delicious Paella
Sundays (and now Thursdays), it’s a Spanish tradition: a delicious paella or sleep on an empty stomach! Pictures of paella for 1, 2 or 3. Ask our Paella variations from your waiter.
Please note – as you will see in the pictures – that our paella is made for You, so time of elaboration is somewhere between 20 to 25mn but the result is really worth it! To help you wait, try our homemade Sangria )))
Barbecue Grill
Tuesdays and Fridays will be Grill style! Lamb Chops, Beef Sirloin, Cockerel, Rabbit, Sausages, Kebabs, grilled vegetables, salad buffet. There is plenty of everything for everyone! Treat yourself with a drink and enjoy that waiting time… You are about to have simply good food.

Special seafood delivery
We know that sometimes during your vacation you want to try something really special for dinner.
Although we have our new restaurant in Palma in Mercado Olivar called “You Buy We Cook” that we encourage you to try and ENJOY the experience, if you make an order 2 days in advance, we will order a lobster or sea fish which is not in our Menu or even the famous red shrimps from Mallorca which are delicious but ridiculously expensive in all restaurants on the island.
We can order them for you, after you place your order with Julia – only with Julia at the Reception please as she needs to receive the pre-payment and place the order in the Mercado Olivar. Then we will cook them for you in our restaurant at a normal price. (Prices will depend on the market price.)
